Entry Level Handover Notes

Overview: Introducing the ability for Entry Level 1 and Entry Level 2 courses to be recommended as 'Most Suitable' for learners. This involves changing the Initial Assessments bounds.

Project Outcomes:

Bounds to be changed as per table for Functional Skills Initial Assessments.

Start End
Entry Level 1 0.5 0.6
Entry Level 2 0.6 0.7
Entry Level 3 0.7 0.9
Level 1 0.9 1.5
Level 2 1.5 2.5

Entry Level 1 and 2 courses will be visible but not allow enrolment. The courses will be marked as most suitable if the student's result is within the bounds, but inactive courses will not allow enrolment.

The content team are working on creating Entry Level Courses that will then show up as expected and allow enrolment when these are complete and marked as active.

Content wise: Changing the IA bounds in Nova (filament) will change the bounds for all IAs on that subject.

Displays on the platform:

Initial Assessment Start Page
Initial Assessment Results Page

On the results page: Learning time required will not include the Entry Level 1 and 2 courses as we do not have the data to present (as we don't offer the exams).

Info icon next to inactive courses reads:

'Course Unavailable

This course is currently not available for enrolment. Please enrol on another course.'

How to change the IA bounds in nova (for Kieran).

In Nova visit Organisation Logins (links to filament) > Course Diagnostics

https://admin.passfunctionalskills.co.uk/admin/course-diagnostics-form

Submit the form, following the rules.

Note: the levels' short names will appear on the IA start page (i.e 'Entry Level 1')

Questions and answers:

David: is there anything to tell them the courses aren't there yet?

Answer: Only place is that instead of being able to enrol on the results page there is an icon saying: 'Course Unavailable

This course is currently not available for enrolment. Please enrol on another course.'

On the My Courses page the courses won't appear either.

Chloe: What will happen for people who have already sat the IA and have got 0.5-0.7?

Answer:

If people have already sat and got 0.5-0.7 and go back to see their results it will be different (and now say the most suitable course is Entry Level 1 or Entry Level 2)
